✦ Synopsis

In the fabrication of magnetic thin film memories, some measure of the magnetic coupling between sensing conductors and the film is required. The magnetic field configuration and the corresponding flux linkages are of interest in determining the sensitivity of the film-conductor geometry. This paper develops expressions for the magnetic scalar potential, the magnetic vector field, and the flux linkages between an idealized thin film slab and a parallel conductor.
