✦ Synopsis


The spline-based method for solving the Fredholm integral equation of the first kind, earlier suggested by Beniaminy and Deutsch, is discussed. The inaccuracy of the solution is estimated. It is shown that this inaccuracy is of the order of e(h') where h is a small parameter reflecting the measure of 8-likeness of the kernel.

One of the main problems in the analysis of measured spectra is how to reduce the influence of noise in data processing. We show a deconvolution, a differentiation and a Fourier Transform algorithm that can be run on a small computer (64 K RAM) and suffer less from noise than commonly used routines.
