Abstract
The spectral scales of the longitudinal and vertical velocity components are investigated by tower measurements up to a height of 250 m at sites of different roughness features. the results are compared with those from the 1968 Kansas experiments. It is shown that the local MoninβObukhov parameter z/L at 50 m sufficiently describes the stability dependence of the spectral scales also at greater heights. the influence of roughness on the w scale is investigated qualitatively by classifying the comprehensive data according to stability, height and roughness.
