The free vibrations of pin-ended steel columns in the elastic range are analysed by direct minimisation of an energy function. The columns are subjected to either constant axial compressive force, or constant axial shortening, and the (lateral) amplitude of vibration is prescribed. The analysis incl

β¦ Synopsis
This paper studies the spatial behaviour of the dynamic processes in elastic mixtures. With this aim we use the time-weighted surface power function method associated with the linear processes. Consequently, we obtain a precise determination of the domain of influence and the spatial decay estimates with time-independent decay rate inside of the domain of influence. A uniqueness theorem is proved for finite and infinite bodies and we note that it is free of any kind of a priori assumptions on the solutions at infinity.

The present paper deals with the analysis of certain dynamic aspects of the blhaviour of beams and plates which support elastically mounted masses. Shear and rotatory inertia effects are not taken into account in the present investigation. An exact solution is presented in the case of a simply supp
