In order to round off the existing theory of beams subjected to follower forces, the solution of the problem is given exactly by deriving the general solution and discussing the fundamental system involved. It is shown that this fundamental system embraces the case of the freely vibrating beam as well as the cases, where divergence buckling loads can be determined by means of the static approach. In pursuit of an idea pointed out by A. Pflager, the exact solution of the static approach involving Bessel functions is extended to cover all possible divergence type systems.

1Jbersicht: Zur Abrundung der bereits vorhandenen Theorie yon St~ben, die mitgehenden Lasten ausgesetzt sind, wird die exak~e L6sung des Problems angegeben; es wird die allgemeine L6sung hergeleitet und das diesbeziigliche Fundamentalsystem diskutiert. Es wird gezeigt, dab dieses Fundamentalsystem sowohl den Fall der freien Schwingungen des Stabes als auch die FXIle umfaBt, bei denen Divergenz vorliegt und die Knicklasten mittels der statischen Methode bestimmt werden k6nnen. In Verfolgung einer Idee yon A. Pfliiger wird die exakte L6sung der statischen l~lethode auf alle m6glichen Divergenz-Systeme ausgedehnt.
