✦ Synopsis

Thi.7 letter, presents a discussion of the solution of general bianisotropic waueguides. General formulas for the field components that are conilenient for pmctical calculations are deducted. The conditions necessary to obtain two independent second-order differential equations for the longitudinal field components are studied, and features of the solutions of bianisotropic waveguides are discussed. Our formulas have clear physical meaning and are easily incorporated into computerprograms. 0 19% John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

## In this article a comprehensive study of coupled-mode equations for general bianisotropic waveguides is given. Rather simple expressions of coupled coeficients that are very useful in the study of propagation features and practical calculations are obtained. Expressions of two different sets of t

## Abstract The present work describes the application of the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) for the solution of cutoff wavelengths of elliptical waveguides. Since the MFS employs a formulation using boundary values only, the cutoff wavelengths are determined by applying the singular value d
