β¦ Synopsis
Three electronic transitions in the singlet manifold of the zirconium sulphide (ZrS) molecule have been rotationally analyzed. They are the B 1 βΈ-X 1 βΊ Ο© , C 1 βΊ Ο© -X 1 βΊ Ο© , and E 1 βΊ Ο© -X 1 βΊ Ο© systems with (0,0) band heads at 924.60, 731.51, and 494.47 nm, respectively. The ground state X 1 βΊ Ο© has an equilibrium bond distance of 2.15661(4) Γ . Perturbations in the B 1 βΈ and C 1 βΊ Ο© states are discussed.

An absorption spectrum attributable to the transition from the first excited singlet state to higher singlet states (S' Q--S transition) of pgrene in soIution has been observed by the flash method.
