โฆ Synopsis
The unusually large field and pressure dependent low temperature resistivity of the heavy fermion superconductor UBel3 is interpreted as possible evidence for two-channel Kondo lattice physics. Analytic results are obtained for the resistivity of the two-channel Kondo lattice in a particular infinite dimensional limit (Lorentzian density of states). Of particular import is a residual resistivity at T = 0 due to "spin-disorder" scattering which is lifted with applied or molecular fields coupling to spin or channel indices. The analysis is tested by examining the one-channel Kondo lattice which is seen to be a soft gap insulator in qualitative accord with other theoretical results.
