โฆ Synopsis
The fluorescence efficiency of 1',2'-dihydro+.pirc[anthracene-9(lOH).3'-[3H]
benz[de] anthracenl-lO-one in 10 sokents of varying dieIectric constant has been iavestigated. The observed exciplex Iuminescence is attributed to a solventassisted intramolecular charge-transfer interaction between the ground-state anthrone and excited-state anthracene moieties_ The geometry of the exciplex is susested to resemble that of a u-r complex.
