## Abstract A novel design of a dual‐mode resonator with double‐ring structure for a band‐pass filter is presented in this paper. Voltage/current couplings between the two rings are proposed based on a mode chart. Because each ring exhibits dual‐mode responses, they determine the range of operation

Abstract
The novel configurations of dual‐mode double slot‐ring resonator (DMDSRR) are introduced to improve the performance of the dual‐mode double‐ring resonator (DMDRR). To obtain a lower insertion loss (−0.76 dB) higher rejection (−48.21 dB) and wider band (BW about 93.35%) filters using tree‐shaped couples and perturbation stubs are proposed here. Both cascaded DMDSRR structure and Butterworth approximation are studied herein. Simulation results including surface current distributions and frequency responses are presented and discussed. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
