โฆ Synopsis
Equations of motion for the out-of-plane vibrations of rotating thick circular rings are derived. The effects of shear deformation and rotatory inertia are included in the formulation. Natural frequencies are obtained and indicate the effects of the rotation, the shear deformation, and the rotatory inertia. In particular, the relative contributions of the centrifugal and Coriolis acceleration terms to the natural frequencies are examined.
