β¦ Synopsis
Summer blooms of
Aphanizomenon flos-aquae var. flus-aquae accompanied by dense populations of Duphniu were common in fish ponds of the district Blatni4 in 1950s-1960s. Changes in management (increased stocking densities, decreased usage of superphosphate as fertilizer) made this type of plankton less frequent. The present study documents this trend and suggests explanations.
