We investigate computationally the error computed by the vortex method for a discontinuous patch of vorticity. Specifically, the computed velocity and vorticity of an elliptical path of constant vorticity, known as the Kirchhoff ellipse, are compared to the analytic velocity and vorticity. The error
with charge n, |n| > 1, and a large coupling constant are dynamically unstable (using the Maxwell-Higgs model).
## Abstract We consider the vibrations of an elastic plate that contains a small region whose size depends on a small parameter __Ξ΅__. The density is of order __O__(__Ξ΅^βm^__) in the small region, the __concentrated mass__, and it is of order __O__(1) outside; __m__ is a positive parameter. The __t
