β¦ Synopsis
Absorption spectra of small K-TCNQ particles are interpreted in terms of the Hubbard model for a lincar cluster of four molecules with four electrons. The shift of the electronic excitation band to higher frequency veraus decrease of particle size is attributed to the growth of the on-site Coulomb repulsion energy due to less effective screening.
