✦ Synopsis

The parameters chaxzcterising thermal properties, namely, Schottky specific heat md associated anomaly in the temperature range 10-750 K, and magnetic properties, namely, principal and mean magnetic susceptibilities, effective magnetic moment, anisotropy and angular dependence of torque in the temperature iange 10400 K have been derived with the help of crystal field studies for the E?:CaFz and Dy'+:CaF2 systems.
