✦ Synopsis

We have presented a theoretical model of forward and reverse nonadiabatic photoelectron transfer in solid solution. The respective equations for decay profiles of cationic donor and radical pair were obtained as a result of configurational averaging over spatial positions of donor and acceptor molecules. The obtained equations are in a more compact form than the respective equations obtained by other authors

The variation of surface composition with rate of flow of a solution of cholesterol in hydroxypropionitrile was measured by He(I) photoelectron spectroscopy as it flowed down a rod. The Marangoni effect is a likely cause of the phenomena observed.

## Abstract A theoretical analysis of the influence of mass‐transfer effect on the kinetic of solid–gas reactions has been carried out by assuming that the partial pressures of the gases generated in the reaction are proportional to the reaction rate. New theory is developed to define the parameters controlling the pyrolysis rate of single particles. It is shown that the relative importance of internal and external heat transfer and of the, intrinsic (first order) pyrolysis kinetics can be determined from the Biot number (hR/K) and, depending on
