β¦ Synopsis
A conceptual model simplifying the Hartmann}Sprenger tube is suggested and investigated to decouple the regurgitant mode of non-linear physics. In spite of notable di!erence originating from the complicated #ow phenomenon, the resonant behavior of this problem is shown to be dependent primarily on wavelength of resonant wave and depth of the tube. Four main parameters are selected and studied numerically in the present paper: forcing frequency, oscillatory amplitude of the Mach number, distance from oscillatory station to the entry of tube, and tube depth. A resonant motion could be induced by forcing a sinusoidal variation of #ow Mach number at the resonance frequency, which supplies vibrational energy to the harmonic system generating compressible waves.

## Abstract Artificial dielectrics prepared as planar grids appear to have potential use and applications at microwaves due to their easy fabrication and their wide range of obtainable properties. Here, we study a grid of metallic Sβparticles introduced in the design of a coplanar waveguide and dem
Using a visualization technique, we observed the resonance of a water column trapped in a vertically oriented capillary tube due to acoustic excitation. The analysis of the quasi-static response suggests that the upper nonvisible meniscus followed the imposed flow by means of a sliding contact line
A rigorous mode-matching technique is implemented for the study of the unloaded Q-factor of a dielectric resonator operating in the TM -mode. Numerical results demonstrate the Β¨ariation of the 01β¦ unloaded Q-factor against geometrical and material parameters. Finally, the accuracy of the calculation
Based on a most general framework of dispersion equation for EM waves in a periodic system which contains both the effects of resonant levels and Bragg reflection, we have derived the dispersion equation of polaritons in the 1D resonant Bragg reflector (lattice constant equal to one half of the reso
