Recent investigations of the chemistry of the hydroxymethyl and methovy radicals have susested that the unimolecalar isomerisation CHaO -CHzOH may be Important. The possible interfering role of this reaction m the reaction between the methovy radical and oxygen is investigated, and an estimate of its rate coefticient is determined from thermochemical considerations.
