β¦ Synopsis
A study of the pressure derivative of the square of the surface coverage is proposed to identify the nature of adsorbate interactions, viz. attractive or repulsive. When interactions are absent maxima in the pressure derivative surface coverage plots occur at a surface coverage of 0.3333. Attractive and repulsive interactions cause positive and negative deviations from this critical value.
