✦ Synopsis
The established high-velocity limit of the double-to-single ionization cross-section ratio for helium is f 2.5 = 10 y3 . It was claimed that the highest projectile charge state for which this limit can be reached is around Z s 13. In this Letter we p give some arguments that in ultrarelativistic collisions this limit can be reached for noticeably higher projectile charge states.
