The Cordoba observations of the comet extend from the 5 t h to the 19 th of February, during which period the weather was exceptionally favorable. The head was not visible in the mists of the horizon until Febr. 4, I n mj7 letter of Febr. I7 I mentioned the remarkable characteristics of the tail, which was about 40" long, comparatively faint, and of nearly the same brightness throughout its whole length, Careful drawings of its D a t e m which evening I saw it for a few moments in the twilight, but could not compare it with any star.
