β¦ Synopsis
The oerturbation theorv. develoned bv Mullins and Sekerka to describe instabiiitv during crvstal growth: has been applied d the problem 02 the fracture of the liquid layer formed duringthe def&m&ion of a metallic glass. A relation between the fracture stress and the 6ne features of the fracture morphology is predicted, in agreement with experimental results.

The tensile ductility or brittleness of metallic glasses is found to depend strongly on the critical shear offset. Based on experimental observations, the tensile shear fracture processes of metallic glasses can be divided into three stages: multiplication and coalescence of the free volume, formati
A model is proposed to describe the simultaneous changes in topological (TSRO) and chemical (CSRO) short range order during structural relaxation of metallic glasses. Changes in free volume and order parameter during isothermal and isochronal annealing were calculated. Corresponding changes in inter
