✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The structure and bonding of [{Cp(CO)~2~Fe}^t^BuPO~2~FeCl~2~]~2~(2) have been investigated theoretically and experimentally. The molecular orbitals of 2 have been calculated to investigate the question why this type of complex forms a planar ring system. The electronic configuration of different electronic states, spin polarization, and bonding of 2 are discussed. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The reaction of the title cyclic complex (1) with sodium amalgam in THF resulted in the expected cleavage of the Fe—Fe bond to afford bis‐sodium salt (Me~2~SiSiMe~2~) [η^5^‐C~5~H~4~Fe (CO)~2~Na]~2~ (4). The latter was not isolated and was used directly to react with MeI, PhCH~2~Cl, CH~3
## Abstract Based on our previous study for the O~2~ binding of the Fe–Por complex, this study investigates the O~2~ binding mechanism in the Fe–porphyrin isomers, Fe–porphycene (FePc), and Fe–corrphycene (FeCor) complexes. By calculating the potential energy surface of the O~2~ binding, the presen
