✦ Synopsis

By analysing experimentally the rheological behaviors of polyethylene oxide solutions, polyacrylamide solutions, carboxymethylcellulose solutions, and hydroxyethylcellulose solution, a rheological model is proposed. The effect of various polymer additives on an air-liquid surface tension is made clear. The equation of motion for a bubble and the pressure equation are derived by using the new theological expression, and then the effects of a kind of polymer and a polymer concentration on the bubble radius-time history and impulse pressure are numerically examined.
