A mesh refinement study and validation of two-fluid model closures were carried out for a bubbling fluidized bed application. The mesh refinement study indicates that a higher degree of mesh refinement is required for atmospheric than for pressurized fluidization. Statistical bubble parameters (bubb
In this paper the problem of calculating the liquid flow force on a particle in interaction with an air bubble with a mobile surface in flotation as a function of the separation distance was solved. The force equation was obtained by first deriving the disturbed flow confined between the surfaces. T
## Abstract The effect of initial bubble conditions on the transient dynamics of a small bubble (__d__ = 1.5 mm) rising in water is computationally considered by a fully three‐dimensional direct numerical simulation. The numerical algorithm is based on the coupled level set/volume‐of‐fluid (CLSVOF)
A stability analysis is given for a model of plankton dynamics introduced by Wroblewski et al. (Global Biogeochem. Cycles 2, 199-218, 1988). The detailed dependence of the steady-states and their stability on the various model parameters is explicitly presented and analysed. It is shown that under c
