โฆ Synopsis
The mechanical properties of porous materials are strongly inยฏuenced by the stress concentration around pores. In view of this, stress ยฎelds around a spheroidal pore is studied under dynamic loading conditions. A hybrid method that combines the ยฎnite element method with an analytical approach has been used. It is shown that the dynamic stress concentration is inยฏuenced by three parameters: frequency of excitation, geometry of the pore and Poisson's ratio of the medium. It is also shown that the dynamic stress concentration can reach much higher values than that predicted by static analysis.
