A new class of bivariate distributions is constructed from a given family of distributions. The approach is based on the corresponding exponential representation, which generalizes the well-known exponential representation for the univariate survival function.

Recently attempts have been made to characterize probability distributions via truncated expectations in both univariate and multivariate cases. In this paper we will use a well known theorem of Lau and Rao (1982) to obtain some characterization results, based on the truncated expectations of a func
A unified treatment is given for mixtures of bivariate binomial distributions with respect to their index parameter(s). The use of probability generating functions is employed and a number of interesting properties including probabilities, factorial moments, factorial cumulants and conditional distr
