β¦ Synopsis
The present study of the development of retroperitoneal Pacinian corpuscles in human embryos is a sequel to studies of these structures in human adults (Takashi et al., '55). Similar studies were made on animal material by Michelson (1869) and Boeke ('26), and on the human material by Pilate ('25), Mori ('35), Wada ('49), Saito ('52) and Hasegawa ('54), almost all dealing with corpuscles of the simple pattern in the palm and sole. Seto and Utsushi ('53) touched upon complex Pacinian corpuscles in their study of sensory innervation of the pancreas in 7 to 10 month human fetuses, and Sakuraoka ( '54) described them in the posterior abdominal wall of a full term human fetus, but neither gave details of development.

The development of Meissner-like and Pacinian corpuscles was studied in mice [from postnatal day (Pd) 0 to 42] by using immunohistochemistry for specific corpuscular constituents. The battery of antigens investigated included PGP 9.5 protein and neurofilaments, as markers for the central axon; S100
## Abstract ## Background Enteric nervous system precursors derived from the neural crest migrate along defined pathways to colonize the bowel. The individual cells in different environments experience different growth, differentiation, and survival conditions. Hence, the spatial distribution of t
Codon 12 of the K-ras oncogene was screened for mutations in 65 surgically-resected primary pulmonary adenocarcinomas and in tissue foci of alveolar atypical hyperplasia (AAH) by a polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-based method. Mutations in either position or position 2 of codon 12 were detected in 1
