Calculated in quantum electrodynamics (QED) and quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at high temperature, the damping rate of a mass shell moving fermion is known to present an infrared divergence due to unscreened magnetostatic modes. In this article, introducing a hard thermal loops (HTL) perturbative resummation scheme, we show how things are found at variance with respect to the ordinary resummation program results.
