✦ Synopsis

Experimental evidence is presented which casts doubt on the recent conjecture of Koch, Liu, Weiske, Lebrilla, Drewello and Schwan that earlier charge-stripping investigations of metastable CH*+ ions conducted in two different laboratories yielded results which were experimental artifacts.
