Abstract
The effect of turbulence on the development of the distribution of droplets growing by condensation in a cumulus cloud is investigated. Both small scale and large scale turbulence are shown to produce some broadening of the distribution. Turbulence with high vertical coherence is found to generate a bimodal distribution for which the dispersion increases with height above cloud base while the mean radius increases slowly.
