Dempster has proposed a rule for the combination of uncertain items of information issued from several sources. This note proves the unicity of this rule under an independence assumption. The existence of alternative rules is stressed, some corresponding to different assumptions, others pertaining t

β¦ Synopsis
Within the theory of belief functions Dempster's rule of combination is of particular importance for the integration of different bodies of evidence. In this article a set of axioms is presented that uniquely determines this rule. As the axioms reflect just the intuitive idea of partially moveable evidence masses the presented results emphasize the unicity of Dempster's rule.

## Abstract In the last twenty years, a theory of real Jordan triples has been developed. In 1994 T. Dang and B. Russo introduced the concept of J\*Bβtriple. These J\*Bβtriples include real C\*βalgebras and complex JB\*βtriples. However, concerning J\*Bβtriples, an important problem was left open.
The possibilities of analysing coals on the microscale have been studied with statistical treatments. The effects, on the precision of microdetermination of ash, of particle size, sample weight, weighing error, vaporization of moisture from coal sample, and mixing of sample have been examined. A cle
