β¦ Synopsis
Uncertainty occuring in the perception and behaviour of an automobile driver can be interpreted as a consequence of the lack in conformity between external events and the driver's internal representation of these. One possible method of simulating this by means of a formal model is to apply fuzzy set theory. In this case the lack of conformity between the external events and their internal representation is due to the vague classification processes of information acquirement as well as response generation by drivers. This piece of research deals with the analysis and simulation of these processes. Digital simulation results show the suitability of the fuzzy set theory approach models, involving human behaviour.
