✦ Synopsis

The 987.7 mn system of FeD hss been shown by rotational analysis of the (1.0) and (0.0) bands to be due to a 4~--3~ electronic transition. The bond lengths in the u = 0 levels of the upper and lower states are rb = 0.1705 run and ri = 0.1589 nm. respectively, and the (u' = 1) -(u' = 0) vibrational interval of the upper state is = 1035 cm-'_

The effects of iron addition on the hydriding properties of Mg 6 Pd were investigated. It was found that 15 min of co-milling Mg 6 Pd and Fe in a high energy mill was sufficient to improve the sorption kinetics. Rietveld refinement of neutron powder diffraction patterns indicated that the presence o

High-pressure synthesis of the hydrides in Mg-M (M ¼ Mn, Y) systems and the influence of applied pressures during synthesis on present phases and their crystal structures have been studied. In Mg -Mn system, it was found that the crystal structure of Mg 3 MnH y changed from hexagonal structure (a ¼
