✦ Synopsis
I n t r o d u c t i o n MCNEMAR'S test (1947) is well known for the 2 x 2 matched samples situation in which subjects are observed with regard to the effectiveness y (coded 1 or 0) of two treatments which are successively administered to them. When the order of administration of the treatments may be relevant as in a crossover design, GART (1969) has suggested several exact conditional tests based on COX'S logistic model (1958) for regression of the binary variates y.
Thus the observed frequencies and probabilities of outcomes (ya , yB) of such a crossover trial on 2n subjects may be summarized as follows (Table 1),
