β¦ Synopsis
A new physically and mathematically generalized receptance coupling method is presented in this paper. This new method overcomes some shortcomings of the commonly used receptance coupling methods. There are two modified formulae: one completes the substructure synthesis in a single step, and the other couples two joint co-ordinates at each step, and implements the coupling process in several steps. The second formula is of more interest. It is computationally efficient and very simple to program. It is also very effective in detecting the linearly dependent co-ordinate pairs. This is particularly attractive, because if these linearly dependent coordinate pairs are not deleted in the coupling process, the accuracy of the substructure synthesis can deteriorate.
