Radiation corrections for surface exiton levels in moIecuIar crystak are caIcuIared_ It is shown that the frequency dependence of the luminescence and reflection spectra near a surface level is determined by the spectraI intensity of the local Iayer exiton correlator. In a general case the radiation contribution to the level half-width and position depends on the oscillator strength, on the band aidth in the direction being considered and on the distance of the level from rhe band edge. However, in the strong renection region the radiation haIf-width does not depend on the oscibtor strength and the band width and is directly proportional to the local energy shift of the surface Iayer. The refations derived are in good agreement with the experimentaI fluorescence and reflection spectra of the surface states in an anthracene crystal.
