The paper raises the question of posing the quasiperiodic boundary condition in theCauchy problem of partial differential equations. Using the one-dimensional cubicnonlinear Schrödinger as a simple example, we illustrated the various types ofquestions including global well-posedness, spectra of linear operators, andfoliations.
