✦ Synopsis
A method of approximating attenuation functions by straight line segments whose slope and range caw be chosen independently within certain bounds is described.
Realization of the approximant is straightforward, and results in a simple, easily adjustable network. The maximum approximation error is calculated and can be made as small aa desired. The method can be applied to adaptive amplitude equalizers.
