✦ Synopsis
The adsorption of surface-active substances at electrodes has been extensively reviewed 1-4. While developing analytical methods for non-ionic tensides it was found that these substances when adsorbed at a mercury electrode exhibited capacity effects which could not be fully explained. The present communication attempts to describe the features of general structure of the double layer for this group of substances.
