Abstract

In this article, we study the modeling of interchannel dependency and its application into removing additive noise from corrupted color images. We start from an ad hoc spatially invariant linear interpolative model for characterizing colorโ€difference and demonstrate how it can be jointly used with a variational intrachannel dependency model to suppress noise by alternating projections. Then we present two nonlinear diffusionโ€based models in the colorโ€difference domain and suggest their spatial adaptation property better matches the class of images with strong chromatic edges. The diversity of interchannel dependency models also motivates us to fuse multiple denoised images from different models to obtain better denoised results. Experimental results are reported to justify the importance of matching the hypothesized dependency model with observation data as well as the benefit of multihypothesis fusion. ยฉ 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this study, we tried to consider various color appearance factors and device characterization together by visual experiment to simplify the acrossโ€media color appearance reproduction. Image segmentation is a fundamental problem in computer vision, for which deformable models offer a partial solution. Most deformable models work by performing some kind of edge detection; complementary region growing methods have not often been used. As a result, deformable models that track region

We propose a general-purpose color-based object model called the Multimodal Neighborhood Signature (MNS) with applications in object recognition and image retrieval. Object modeling is example-based and can cope with many appearance variations due to the image formation/rendering process. The local

## Abstract In this article, some pretreatment techniques used for the object extraction in color debris image were introduced, which was an important basic work in ferrographic technology to identify precisely wear debris produced by friction and wear from the relative motions between machine part
