✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Let L be a very ample line bundle on a smooth complex projective surface. The relations between the higher order embedding properties of L, like k ‐ spannedness, k ‐ very ampleness, k ‐ jet ampleness, and the higher numerical connectedness properties of divisors D Ξ΅ |L| are Investigated. Some applications to adjoint bundles as well as pluricanonical bundles are discussed.

## Abstract Let __L__ be a nef line bundle on a Del Pezzo surface. We show that __L__ + __K~S~__ is birationally __k__–very ample if and only if all the smooth curves in |__L__| have gonality β‰₯__k__ + 2, and we also find numerical criteria for birational __k__–very ampleness.

This paper presents a new higher-order bounded scheme, weighted-average coefficient ensuring boundedness (WACEB), for approximating the convective fluxes in solving transport equations with the finite volume difference method (FVDM). The weighted-average formulation is used for interpolating the var
