✦ Synopsis

Scottish Collaborative On‐demand Publishing Enterprise (SCOPE) aims to provide alternative forms of student text provision at Scottish universities through on‐demand publishing of customized course packs and, eventually, on‐line delivery over a computer network. The project is outlined and progress over the first year described, with some reactions from the major stakeholders: academics, students, publishers, booksellers and librarians. Some applications in support of health studies are suggested.
