✦ Synopsis

Two H optimization problems of a nonlinear tracking control system: the problem of a nonlinear controller and the problem of a nonlinear plant are considered in the paper. The describing function method is used for linearization of a feedback control system. Theorems, which enable one to replace the optimization of a nonlinear system by the optimization of an approximate linear system are proven in the paper. Methods of H optimization are used to find the structure of an optimal controller of the approximate system.

This paper gives a characterization of all transfer functions that may be realized via regular static-state feedback for a SISO nonlinear control system. It is shown that the question whether there exists a feedback realizable transfer function with a given number of zeros may be reduced to a well-k

An application of the intermediate Hamiltonian method is reported in estimation of the lower bounds to the potential energy curve of the hydrogen molecule ion. An improvement of the method and its limitation are also discussed.

Using the optimized effective potential method in conjunction with the semianalytical approximation due to Krieger, Li, and Iafrate, we performed fully selfconsistent exact exchange-only density functional calculations for diatomic molecules with a fully numerical basis-set-free molecular code. The
