✦ Synopsis

A stepwise linear regression technique is applied to the description of hay yields i~1 Iceland with nitrogen application, last year's yield, mean warm season and cold season temperatures. The paper sets out to show that useful structural equations can be obtained for a crop in a marginal region of the earth's surface. It should therefore be of value over far wider areas of the globe.
