We describe the primitive model of an electrochemical interfac: by using a free energy functional of the Landau type. The relevant variables are assumed to be the charge and total ion density and the Coulomb interaction is explicitly taken into account. Explicit results are obtained in a mean field

Quite recently, some new mathematical approaches to black holes have appeared in the literature. They do not rely on the classical concept of event horizon-which is very global, but on the local concept of hypersurfaces foliated by trapped surfaces. After a brief introduction to these new horizons,
