Colombeau's algebra of generalized functions is used to study the solutions to a single hyperbolic conservation law. In a simple setting of travelling shocks, we formulate a new interesting necessary and sufficient condition for the solution to be entropic.

The Riemannian metric induced by quantum s-entropies is proven to be monotone under stochastic mappings on the set of density matrices. The length of tangent vectors is essentially the Wigner-Yanase-Dyson skew information in this setting.

A rigorous connection is established between the local porosity entropy introduced by Boger et al. (Physica A 187 (1992) 55) and the configurational entropy of Andraud et al. (Physica A 207 (1994) 208). These entropies were introduced as morphological descriptors derived from local volume fluctuatio
