โœฆ Synopsis

suggests that fisherman, when hunting worms at night, use a red light since the annelids apparently are insensitive to this section of the spectrum. Flashing an ordinary light on the worms as they emerge from their burrows causes them to retreat quickly. They also slide back into their holes when a blue light strikes them. Although the worms do not have eyes, the forward parts of their bodies appear to possess the greatest sensitiveness to light.
