β¦ Synopsis
means that it does not require further treatment, thereby saving on chemicals, and the heat content of the returned condensate reduces fuel costs. Now, thanks to the introduction of a new compact and efficient range of condensate pumping sets from Gestra (UK), recovering condensate has been simplified. Each fully packaged system comprises a horizontal receiver mounted on a support frame which also provides the housing for duty and stand-by centrifugal pumps, and pipework incorporating isolation valves on the suction side and check valves on the discharge side. The sets also include an IP55 rated steel control cabinet with three position selector switch for manual or auto changeover pump selection and a seven day timer switch for changeover sequencing.
The receiver vessel is available in galvanised mild steel, copper or stainless steel and incorporates a four probe level sensing unit, sight glass and drain cock. The units are designed to handle condensate up to 95Β°C although higher temperatures can be accommodated if required. The range comprises over a dozen models capable of handling discharge rates in excess of 20 000 kg/h.
