A synchronous citation study of 15 leading physics journals has been performed to determine the obsolescence of Physica Review articles with age. The density of citations to Physical Review has been found to decrease exponentially with a half-life of 4.9 years, which is the first conclusive evidence of the exponential decrease. introduction
